With A Truly Transatlantic Perspective
Born in Paris, France of British lineage, Nicola's transatlantic aesthetic was formed by her family's international travels and residences in England, Connecticut, New York and Northern California. Her Southeastern English family heritage holds a multi-generational background in the antique furniture and building / developing trades.
Nicola's early career spanned in a range of different roles; her first placement in 2001 as design assistant led to procurement, marketing and finally, Director of Operations of a San Francisco-based multi-million dollar design firm and retail collection. Nicola is deeply grateful for the guidance and mentorship she received along the way from principals, peers and colleagues.
In 2013, Nicola established NCID and secured the firm's initial design project: a top tier model unit for a national developer's luxury amenities driven 700 unit condominium and retail complex in San Francisco. The design team has since established collective experience on a range of work including historical properties, high-end residential renovation, new construction, tasting rooms, and various commercial projects. Chipps Interiors work is characterized by classic Anglo European aesthetics with approachable American sensibilities. Informed by a discerning eye for sophisticated and worldly aesthetics, every space tells a story of heritage inspired interiors that are assured with modern confidence.
Today, Nicola makes her home in Napa Valley wine country, where the natural beauty, and rich history of this top lifestyle destination offers daily inspiration. NCID is dedicated to taking an active role in volunteer work with organizations committed to the well being of the extended community including British-American trade relations, sustaining architectural conservationship, arts endowments, the unhoused and animal welfare.
